Collieston Burns Supper 2008

This year's Burns Supper was held at the Community Centre on Saturday 26th of February.  The evening was a sell out.  Ian Bell was the Master of Ceremonies and the musical entertainment was provided by Fiona Lyon.  Ian, in his own inimitable style, addressed the Haggis, recited Tam O'Shanter and told many awful jokes.  Mike Earlam and Julie Swan cooked a tremendous meal and were ably assisted by Josh and Riannan.  The neeps and tatties were provided by Andy and Nora.

Rear Admiral Steve Ritchie presented the village with a Burns Medal which was originally worn by his father Sir Douglas Ritchie during his time as President of the Burns Club of London.  When Steve retired to Collieston he wore it on several occasions when chairing Burns Suppers in the Hall at Collieston.  The medal was worn by our Master of Ceremonies for the rest of the evening.
